25.06.2009 We stayed for 2 nights at the Moreno Hotel in early January 2009. It is only a couple blocks away from the Casa Rosada and the Plaza de Mayo, on the edge of the San Telmo district. We arrived on Sunday so were only a couple blocks from the famous antiques flea market that seemed to go on for miles! The hotel is in an old art deco building that has been refurbished. It is not much to look at from the street, especially since they are still building the theater/restaurant. They were doing work on it so hopefully it will open soon! Anyways, when we were shown our room we were surprised at how enormous it was! It was bigger than most New York apartments and furnished really beautifully.

25.06.2009 Opinions may differ on this hotel - it is summed up by the elevators which are old style gated lifts that must be manually opened to be operated. We loved this and all the other quirks of the hotel (eg cow hide rug in the room) - plus the staff were fantastic and incredibly helpful. But some (dare I say it American) customers may find the known product from Hilton etc more to their liking.

25.06.2009 The Moreno is a modern, small boutique hotel in a great location with a terrific staff that arranged dinners, tango shows, etc. with no hassles. Our room was large and very modern, although a little loud (we were on the street-side). Probably best for adults, the hotel's only shortcoming was a less than satisfying continental breakfast--but it was on the patio roof-top with an amazing view of the city, and who needs a huge breakfast anyway after a huge dinner of meat the night before. Happily, the hotel's own restaurant and bar should be open soon, as well as the tango show. If they are up to the standard of the rest of the hotel, it willl be quite nice. We would definitely stay there again. The price was very good, much less than many of the better known Buenos Aires hotels.

25.06.2009 The Moreno is recently-opened hotel, well-located a couple of blocks south of the Casa Rosada in an older, partly run-down area of Buenos Aires, with easy ascess to the Metro (two blocks) and about a mile south of the Puerto Nuevo. The rooms were spacious with new, modernistic furnishings in bedroom and bath. Hotel has wi-fi and an available computer. Top floor/rooftop breakfast was pleasant and certainly adequate. Reception and service was good and helpful. Staff could handle English well. A good value as far as I can determine. An elevator is available to all floors except the top (breakfast) floor. This is by no means a "plush" place in a fancy neighborhood, but clearly met our needs and expectations. We are in our early 70s and would recommend it to anyone fit or younger who can live without plushness.

25.06.2009 Excellent location, didn't find it noisey in the least. Fantastic large trendy rooms. Clean and comfortable. Only criticism was the continental breakfast was very average.

25.06.2009 Our stay at the Moreno Hotel on the edge of San Telmo was absolutely brilliant and exactly what I needed having spent 2 weeks travelling down from Rio.

Room was huge, clean and extremely stylish. Hotel staff were really helpful and made our stay completely hassle free, giving excellent restaurant recommendations and arranging transfers.

Only downer was the unavailability of the bar and restaurant still being renovated, but this wasn't really an issue with so many great places to eat and drink in BA.

I'd definitely recommend staying at the Moreno, especially if you can get one of the larger loft style rooms.

25.06.2009 Moreno Hotel is well located for all of our needs in Buenos Aires. At first I was concerned about going to a hotel that I booked on the internet however, Pablo made me feel right at home as soon as I arrived. Pablo actually made my trip the best I have had in a while. Service from him and others in the hotel was excellent. Rooms are large and nice compared to the rest of Buenos Aires.

25.06.2009 The Moreno is a great boutique hotel, especially for the price. The rooms are decorated in a stark contemporary style with modern fixtures. Rooms are very spacious, beds comfortable and water pressure great. Staff is very helpful. Only downside is the bathrooms are somewhat noisy if the person above you is showering/flushing. Area is mostly of historical interest, but cabs are cheap to Palermo. Checked out the rooms at the highly rated Hotel BoBo and the Moreno rooms are much nicer, and cheaper.

25.06.2009 Centrally located a few blocks from the Casa Rosada and the Sunday San Telmo street fair, this stylish newcomer on the BA hotel scene offers beautifully designed rooms with loads of space. The lovely website pictures don't lie - rooms are huge and comfortably. At this time, the entryway still appears a bit sketchy - much streetfront is hidden by signs for the upcoming restaurant/ theatre now under construction.Arriving in the unattractive side street presents a grim visage. This is made up for with a nicely restored building, mixing Deco and euro-modern and pleasant service. Wifi access is good throughout which will benefit the business traveler. The real downside is the central elevator. Although lovely, it runs near constantly throughout the night and is located within 2 doors of every room, resulting in ongoing nighttime noise. Still, a good value.
