I recently stayed at the excellent Little Leaf Guest House in St Ives. I found it as it appeared to be one of the top rated places to stay in Cornwall. Furthermore, being a young couple, we don't have loads of money and so the prices seemed reasonable. We made a long weekend of it - and it was very good. We stayed in the top room in the establishment, this gave excellent views of St Ives and the bay. The B&B was located in a very good location - it was within walking distance to the town. Very good food and large portions (although was so good I would still have eaten more!). The rooms themselves were extremely good quality. Only slight disadvantage was the lack of parking - however there is a public car park very close by and whilst there was a cost it wasn;t massive. Alternatively go by train - I hear it is one of the most scenic rail routes in the UK. All in all the place comes thoroughly recommended!
