The hotel staff were lovely, the rooms were extra clean, and spacious ad light (no wardrobes though, couple of hangers on the wall, still, i wouldnt complain). The shower room is lovely too.
The beds were extra comfortable, just what i needed when i went to bed very late on saturday night, after a long day!!
We werent up in time for the continental breakfast (hungover) and i wouldnt reccomend paying £4.50 extra for an english breakfast, when you can get a massive breakfast for at least £1 cheaper up the road.
the staff were really friendly, courteous and helpful too.
My only gripe is that we weren't warned that there were going to be roadworks on the road outside of our room very early the next morning (we were woken at about 7 the next morning)
But other tan that, i would definitely visit this hotel again!

This Hotel did what it said in the brochure, it was centrally located, easy walking distance to the railway station and old York, with convenient local shops, & restaurants. The accommodation was clean, modern, a bit minimalistic but functional. If you have a room overlooking the road, it can be a bit noisy whilst the pubs were still open, but you would have to be a very light sleeper for this to be a problem. Continental Breakfast was good with a good selection, (a cooked breakfast was available for an extra charge if needed).
A couple of little niggles: the mattress was a bit hard (would have been problem if stopping for more than a couple of days, as would be the lack of drawers,(none)
Overall I would recommend this Hotel as good value for a short stay in York.
