25.06.2009 I have stayed here several times, and this was on par with all the other stays. Rooms are clean and reflect the charm of the old hotel. That said, F.R.Y. is old, so rooms are a bit dated, and sometimes quite small.
Some rooms are quite noisy, depending on location; I moved from a very loud one near to the elevator.
Staff are EXCELLENT -- attentive, speedy, and courteous.
The location, which connects to the underground walking path and subway, makes this hotel extremely accessible to a variety of Toronto attractions.

25.06.2009 Great hotel and location (less than 10 min walk to Waterfront, CN Tower or Eaton Centre. Great value if you can find the right deal!

25.06.2009 It had three restaurants and a Library Bar, which was our favorite of its three restaurants.

The room was spacious, clean, well-maintained, and comfortable.

The service and the facilities were commensurate to the fees charged.

25.06.2009 The hotel had a "old world" feel,but with all the amenties. Our room was nicely furnished and had flat screen T.V. I loved the lobby as there were wing back chairs and a pianist at night.

Of course being right across from the train station was a plus for us as we were utilizing the train.

25.06.2009 Classic hotel.Got a free upgrade as they didn't have a no smoking room available.The suite was roomy-two bathrooms-and did not smell of smoke.Wonderful food at Epic, the Royal York's restaurant.

25.06.2009 Excellent hotel and staff, would recommend to anyone who wants to stay in downtown Toronto.

Breakfast in particular was excellent and rooms are beautifully turned out, if a little old fashioned.

Only slight criticism is the bathroom/shower which are a tad more modest.

A real "Grand dame" of a hotel.

25.06.2009 very good value for money, friendly staff, concierge very helpfull in arranging tickets. we visited near christmas and the atmosphere in the holel was lovely.

we would return or use another Fairmount group hotel
