A very nice hotel located on the edge of the village and the Latin Quarter, only a 15 minute walk to the Place d'Arts, and an easy walk to most downtown areas like Chinatown, Old Port, etc. The hotel has a small mall at one of the exits where a small grocery store, a wonderful bakery, several retail stores and fast food restaurants, with Metro access. There is a park located across the street. The hotel staff was wonderful, the room clean and very comfortable, and overall a great value. We had considered the Sunday brunch, however, we asked to see what was on the brunch buffet before we made our decision, and found that for the price of the brunch buffet, it was lacking in substance, and chose to find breakfast in the city, where we both had breakfast for the same price the hotel was charging for the breakfast buffet for one.
Our room was located on an upper floor, a corner room facing the St. Lawrence Seaway and the Jacques Cartier bridge, which proved to be wonderful on Saturday night when the international fireworks exhibit was happening, as we had a fantasic view from our room. Parking was not included in our hotel fee, but we were given a discounted rate that we paid the hotel for. We would definitely recommend the hotel to anyone who wants to spend some time in Montreal. As B&B owners and people who return to Montreal at least annnually, we give the Hotel Gouverneur Place Dupuis a definite "we'll be back"- great place!
