14.02.2010 een door het hotel bevestigde reservering, en daarna wegens overbezetting worden ondergebracht in een ander hotel, ver buiten de stad. Het management verwaardigd zich niet om de receptioniste bij te staan. Slechts een nacht kunne blijve ipv 4. Kamers goed, ontbijt zeker niet 5 sterren, misschien 2.

14.04.2009 Met drie stellen met de Paasdagen 2009 naar Krakau geweest. We hebben gelogeerd in Hotel Grand. Dit hotel is echt super, de kamers zeer ruim, heel vriendelijk personeel, een voortreffelijk ontbijt. Het hotel heeft een sfeer die ombeschrijvelijk is. De ligging is perfect. Je kunt alle bezienswaardigheden (en die zijn er veel) te voet afleggen. Rondom het hotel zijn restaurants in alle prijsklasses. Een klein nadeel is dat als je slaapt met open ramen er sprake kan zijn van overlast. Kamers hebben echter ook airco. Er is een fitnessruimte met sauna. Wij kunnendit hotel dan ook iedereen van harte aanbevelen.

25.06.2009 Spent 4 nights over New Year period. It does have a very grand appearance, with very spacious and well appointed rooms. On check-in, we were shown to a twin room, despite being booked into a double. We had to lug our luggage down stairs to swap for a double as booked - after we'd tipped the porter! Second room was a little smaller, but with huge double bed. Staff were very polite and helpful, and reception staff spoke good english.

Pay for TV didn't work in our room, and only international news channel was France24, but a fairly minor issue I know.

Breakfast was a bit of a let down for a 5 star hotel, and we're still not sure what was "American Breakfast" about it, as described!

Overall, it was good value for money and we enjoyed our stay. Would happily stay again.

10.02.2008 Zeer goed hotel (oud hertogelijk paleis),uitstekend gelegen in het centrum van de stad. Alle bezienswaardigheden liggen op wandelafstand.
Vriendelijk personeel.Goede service.

25.06.2009 Excellent service - people were very polite and friendly. Nothing was too much trouble, which helped with things (below) that were slightly disappointing. Bedrooms spacious and well furbished. Food quite exceptional. Location is perfect - just round the corner from the main square (Rynek Glowny). Although booking a double romm we had to have two separate single rooms on the first night as no double was available. However, we were given a standard suite for the remaining two nights which made up for our initial disappointment. Suites are to be recommended. A little niggle was over drink making facilities, which depend on the standard of room you have. The first night none at all; second night no milk and third night no coffee. You'd think they could get basic stuff like this right. We will certainly go back and found the hotel overall very good value for money.
